Senior Project

I am the Account Executive for my senior project in Advertising. Over the course of the semester, my group and I will have created an advertising for a local business in Tuscaloosa. Right now we are still in the research phase. It would be very helpful if you completed this survey. We need as much feedback as we can get.

What the future holds

As my May graduation date seems to be rapidly coming closer and closer, I feel like my thoughts have been completely encompassed by my ongoing job search. While still trying to focus on my schoolwork, I can’t help but think about what my future holds. When I first visited The University of Alabama campus in high school, I met with a man in the College of Communication & Information Sciences that told me something that has stuck with me everyday since.  He said to me, “Lexi, when you graduate from here, you will leave with two pieces of paper. A transcript and a resume. And that is it.” Now that I am approaching graduation, I completely agree with this statement. In fact, I took his statement as advice on how to live my college career.
I have spent the past four years studying for tests, reading textbooks, writing papers, designing brochures, and much much more. However, this is not the only way I occupied my four years. I have also spent my college career filling my resume with leadership activities, community service, and internships. Where has all of this gotten me? Exactly where I was told it would get me... two pieces of paper: a transcript and a resume.
Now the next step is getting a job. What can four years of hard work get me? I don't know yet, but I am willing to do anything. I honestly will to move anywhere and do anything as long as I am happy doing what I am doing. My degrees and activities obviously limit me on what kind of job I can have, and I am okay with that... I always knew that I wasn't destined to be some microbiologist. Come May, my degree will be a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. I am a double major in Advertising and Political Science, and all of my leadership roles and internships have complimented those majors in some way or another.
I am determined to be successful in whatever I do when graduation rolls around. I now just have to figure out what that is. If you have any advice or job leads, I would love to hear from you.

God Bless & Roll Tide,
Lexi
